Whatever I would write today wouldn’t hold to the precious story of why we celebrate Christmas. If you aren’t familiar with the story you can find it in various parts of the Bible, for instance in Matthew 1: 18-2:12. If you do not have one, click the link on Matthew.
This incredible story includes so many things. Honesty, vulnerable feelings, hardship, joy, struggle, witnessing, faith, true love, and so much more. Certain parts could be something pulled from current times, a young girl realizing her fate is to become pregnant prior to marriage, a man that felt broken by the acts of his bride to be, and a gift that no one will ever top.
Mary a young girl, visited by an angel became the servant of our Lord. She did not doubt. She had the role of raising and being the ultimate Mother to the Savior.
Joseph, her husband to be, although deeply hurt was going to quietly divorce her, but after being visited by an angel became a father to a child that was not his own. He protected and provided for his family as best he could, he listened to the Lord, and safety was found.
Jesus Christ an infant that held so much for us, the poor miserable sinner. He became the King we needed then and still do on this day so many years later.
As we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ today let’s remember a very important and true fact. The word became flesh and Jesus Christ was sent to save us all. A gift that is still giving today and you can take this gift and accept him into your heart. It is there for the taking.
May you have a very Merry CHRISTmas.
Grace is a gift,
